My Inspirations
This page shows examples of other peoples work that I really like and am inspired by. If you click on the images, they should take you to a site where you can find out more about the artist if you want to.
Below: Alberto Vargas, instigator of sexy calenders and pin-up girls, I love the realistic quality and imaculate shading of the airbrushed images, as well as their curvy proportions.

Victoria's Secret: since going to NewYork in 2009 I found Victoria's Secret to be excellent in Branding and marketing. They have a variety of things other than lingerie on offer, and the styling of the stores is beautiful. I have not seen a better fashion show than the ones by Victoria's Secret. But, my favourite thing about Victoria's Secret is their million dollar bras. (below: 2009, black diamond bra).
The best exhibition I have been to for a while, is the Skin and Bones exhibition that looked at Fashion and Architecture. My love of sculpture made me really enjoy this exhibit. I like to look at the relationship between Architecture and Fashion, my favourite item in the show was by Boudicca, I really liked the pleated layers of fabric that faced different directions (below).
This is quite an old spread by Demarchelier but I still find it very inspirational and it fits with the mood of a lot of my work. I like a lot of the work I have seen by Demarchelier.
Silvia Davis: When I visited NewYork in 2007, I found the Coda Art gallery in SoHo. In there I found increadibly life like bronze sculptures by Silvia Davis. I really wanted the life size filly (below) but getting it on the aeroplane would have been an issue.
Wak: Sticking with my love of realistic art, I am very fond of the artist Wak. His drawings are very powerful. I especially love the passion in the 'Lock and Key' range.
Jonathon Earl Bowser: The women look real but the image is pure fantasy, I like the way they merge into the water.
Thierry Perez: Illustrator to many fashion designers such as Azzedine Alaia. Perez is my favourite fashion illustrator. His work was a big inspiration during my FMP at college (see college section). I really like the big lips, sexy eyes and extreme body proportions that every illustration embodies.
