Imaging and Communication

With this communication unit, we were given two words and had to produce a photoshoot based on them. with a digital visual diary to support the final outcome of a six page spread.

This unit allowed me the opportunity to collaborate with model, photographer and a hawk conservancy. The owner of the Raptors were happy to help as long as the birds were not distressed and none of the images were shot in a way as to provoke animal rights activists. For safety reasons, we were only allowed to use a Barn Owl and a Harris Hawk.

I had to use a lot of photoshop in the first image, as the hawk was tethered to a post. There was a lot of great images that made the selection process very difficult.

The concept was 'Free Romantic', I either wanted to use a falcons or horses close up in shots to represent freedom, I could not find anyone to lend a horse so I worked with the birds instead. We had to take a lot of pictures with the birds to get good shots.

(Note: The pages of the spread on this page are layout samples, which is why, other than the title, the text does not make sense.)
